Tegucigalpa - School Report Question and Answers

Are the admissions and placement procedures clearly stated to prospective families, either on the school website or through other means of communication?

The admissions and placement procedures are not as formal as most other international schools, but it completely fits a Montessori-style. During my tour, the Director mentioned that all prospective students are asked to attend for one week before enrolling to make sure it was a good fit for everyone. The fee was $50 for each student (well worth it). Her quote was, "Montessori is for every child but Montessori is not for every parent"...which is absolute WISDOM!! - Mar 2023

We had great communication from the school. They arranged a tour for the entire family (we had 4 school-age children at post) and let us know how to complete testing to ensure accurate placement. I felt that the testing was really just a requirement to convince the parents that they take the students education very seriously and to scare you into the possibility that your student just may not meet their standards. We completed the whole process except for testing, in-person in one visit. The testing was extensive for our oldest (Gr. 4), but did ensure that she was appropriately placed in reading and math groups within her class. - Jul 2019
