Jakarta - School Report Question and Answers

Are students generally challenged appropriately by the curriculum? Please describe any particular strengths or weaknesses in this area. Do you have any thoughts how the curriculum is applied and implemented at this school?

This is an Asian school with a very rigorous academic program. Most high schoolers have tutors (especially IB/AP math and science classes). And most parents hire someone to help with college applications. Kids with straight A's coming from U.S. schools (like Virginia) will struggle - get a tutor immediately to avoid getting Ds on their first tests. Plan to spend at $50-80 a week/per subject (usually math and science)/per student in high school. I wish I had known this before we moved here. - Dec 2021
