Is high-speed home Internet access available? How long does it typically take to install it after arrival?

Yes, there are two companies that provide fibre optic internet, Canal+ and Yas (formerly Togocom). It usually takes a few days but some can wait a couple of weeks. The service does get interrupted often mainly due to power cuts so it's recommended to plug your internet router into a UPS which can be purchased locally. - Aug 2025

Internet is good here. Installation does not take long but if there is an issue they usually are not responsive. Pretty typical internet service anywhere in the world I've been. - Mar 2019

This past year internet has improved markedly. We now have fiber optic to our residence at 30 Mbps. Cost is very reasonable: 30,000 CFA (about $52) per month, and the service is more reliable than anything I've experienced elsewhere in Africa to date. - Feb 2019

It is but it is a joke. Don't rely on the internet for anything since it is almost always down. They have a cell phone company called Togocell and for U$55 dollars you can have internet on your cell phone. The service is very expensive and inadequate. And every time there are riots against the local government they turn off the internet in the whole country. This is a place to read (A LOT). - Sep 2017

2Mbps is the best you can get, for around US$175 a month. Expensive and slow! - Aug 2015

Internet service is improving and the cost is about US$100.00 per month. - May 2014

160 dollars a month, slow and expensive but no choice! - Mar 2011
