What kind of vehicle(s) including electric ones do you recommend bringing to post, given the terrain, infrastructure, availability of parts, burglary/carjacking risks, etc.? What kind of car or vehicles do you advise not to bring?
It's recommended to bring a high clearance vehicle like an SUV, and if you want to leave Lomé for different adventures a vehicle with 4x4 is ideal, especially in the rainy season. You will be more comfortable as well with a vehicle with operating AC due to the heat, rain, dust and mosquitos. - Aug 2025
