What volunteer opportunities are available locally?
This is more limited. There is not much of an infrastructure for the type of non-profit work that offers volunteer opportunities that you might see at other posts. TELL (an English language counseling hotline) offers some good volunteer opportunities. However, unless you have Japanese, the volunteer spots will be limited. Many people volunteer at the international schools where their children attend. - Nov 2020
