Hermosillo - Post Report Question and Answers
Are qualified veterinarians and/or good kennel services available? Do animals need to be quarantined upon entry to the country? Are there other considerations regarding pets that are particular to this country?
The vet that's trusted by most consulate members insisted on taking a colleague's cat's blood from the neck. That was all I needed to know I never wanted to go to him. There are no quarantines, no border checks on the Mexican side, and no permits needed to bring pets into Mexico. - Jun 2025
I don't have a pet so can't speak personally about this. People at post have been happy with the vet care and kennel service. When I got to post pets did not need to be quarantined but that may have changed. I can't think of any pet considerations in Hermosillo. The quality, care, and services are excellent. If anything major happens you can always drive to Arizona. - Sep 2024

Hermosillians LOVE their pets, especially dogs. There are veterinary clinics with English-speaking veterinarians. There are kennel services. Animals do not need to be quarantined upon entry. Lots of different dog foods and toys and accessories available at Costco and Walmart. - Aug 2022
