Milan - Post Report Question and Answers

What is the overall climate: is it extremely hot or cold, wet or dry, at any time of year, for example?

Hot, somewhat humid summers and mild grey winters. Very little snow. The spring and fall are lovely here. - Jun 2018

Pretty much on par with DC, but warmer in winter and longer summers. - Sep 2016

Mild in general. If you have lived in DC, I like to say it is similar, but a couple degrees warmer throughout the year. We get snow in the winter, but no blizzards. Summer, especially August, can get hot. The city shuts down in mid August for 2 weeks while the Italians flee to the sea and mountains. Last winter was surprisingly grey - little sun for weeks on end. Southern Italians like to make fun of the grey, cold Milan weather. But really, not too bad. - Aug 2013

The weather isn't that bad. Similar to Washington D.C. Moderate in the winter, but quite warm in the summer. Of course, one can always escape to the nearby mountains or lakes for relief. - Jun 2010

Summer is hot, particularly July and August (though everyone goes away for August), winter is dreary--grey and foggy. You don't see the sun for about four months (no kidding!) - Dec 2008

Spring is the nicest season here! Summer is hot, fall is nice and winter is the typical European winter: dreary, foggy, cold and wet. - Jan 2008
