What services are provided for speakers of English as a second language at this school? Please describe your experience with these services, if applicable.
The school has an EAL program at an additional cost. They also have first language curriculums for Japanese, German, French, Mandarin and Korean. Depending on the language designation, thee student will be tracked into Thai classes and a modern foreign language. There is chart on the website around which child goes where. My daughter is a native English speaker. She took one Mandarin classes and Thai classes during the week. It's comparable to foreign language classes in the U.S. - Aug 2023
ISB is a school with students from many different countries. There are many students in each class for whom English is the second language. - Jan 2023
Mandarin Chinese was available and the teacher spoke Mandarin, Cantonese, and English (quite well). She truly cared for each child's learning levels, and challenged them to improve. She was a good Chinese teacher compared to previous ones my children had at other schools. She spoke well, and was not afraid to communicate her concerns to the parents on how the kids can improve. - Apr 2019
