San Salvador - School Report Question and Answers
What is the climate for LGBT+ kids at this school? Are there resources they can draw upon? Does there appear to be any exclusionary behavior?
We found there to be little acceptance for either LGBT+ children or kids from LGBT+ families. In our experience, many local families exclude anyone who is different from their social circles and we are aware of instances of bullying. We learned from our kids that the school was not open to let the kids form a Gay-Straight Alliance. - Jun 2025
I don’t have personal experience, but Salvadorans are generally not known to be the most inclusive when it comes to LGBT+, so I’d look into this carefully if you’re considering this school… or this post. - Mar 2022
