Ashgabat - School Report Question and Answers

Are students generally challenged appropriately by the curriculum? Please describe any particular strengths or weaknesses in this area. Do you have any thoughts how the curriculum is applied and implemented at this school?

This is a QSI school. My kids have found it pretty easy, academically. The "mastery learning" approach translates into many students choosing to be lazy and to wait until the last few weeks of school to complete all of the required units for each course. This can be frustrating for students who try to stay on task and finish requirements at the suggested pace, because they will inevitably end up waiting for the rest of the class to catch up. However, the online AP courses are quite rigorous and demand a lot of work. The school philosophy is that no one fails. You just keep trying until you master each concept. This can be great for children who struggle, but very annoying for high achievers. - Jun 2026
