Reykjavik - School Report Question and Answers

Does the school have a library? How large is it? How updated are the books? Can students borrow books to read at home?

B+ In relation to our school size, our librarian went to great lengths to find wonderful books for ages 4-12. Our periodicals and references were limited, but based on living in Iceland, this was true for almost all schools! - Aug 2014

Very good selections of fiction/non-fiction books. Children are encouraged to have quiet reading and check books out. Many times, we got books from the library to read at home. Buying English books in Iceland is very difficult. It was a nice relief to have a good selection of English books in the school library to choose from. - May 2014

Library is adequate. - Apr 2014

The library is very small - with only 20 or so students in the "English stream" of the school; it's hard to expect much from them in this regard. - Mar 2014
