What are some interesting/fun things to do in the area? Can you recommend any “hidden gems"?
Minoh falls is a nice hike on a warm spring or fall day; I love the Nunobiki gardens in Kobe too. Going to a jazz club in Osaka or Kobe. Walking around Nakanoshima in Osaka and exploring all of the little different neighborhoods; I like Nakazakicho and Minamisemba in Osaka and Kyukyoruchi in Kobe. - May 2026
There are lots of good day trips from Osaka. Great hiking, biking, and running opportunities abound. There are also LOTS of museums to visit. Universal Studios Japan is really fun, too. - May 2021
You can reach a hiking trail in 15 minutes by foot from the housing compound. There's so much to do in the region. - Oct 2013
