Sao Paulo - Post Report Question and Answers

Is this a good city for LGBT expatriates? Why or why not?

In my opinion yes. Although, I can't begin to know what challenges might be faced. From what I have seen there seems to be a wide acceptance of all people in the LGBTQ community. - May 2021

Very LGBT friendly. - Apr 2021

Maybe the best in Latin America. Close your eyes and imagine it and it's hear for LGBT people. Pride parade is one of the biggest in the world. Certain neighborhoods seem to be predominantly LGBT-oriented/occupied. The nightlife is great. However, there are concerns with the new government's attitudes towards LGBT people and with high levels of violence against trans people. - Aug 2019

It's got to be one of the best, outside of San Francisco. Very open GLBT community here, an enormous GLBT parade, which drew 3.5 million people last year. Brazilian girls say the gay clubs play the best music in the city. One gay friend of mine had no trouble finding a new boyfriend the same day he arrived. - Aug 2008
