Is it easy to make friends with locals here? Are there any prejudices or any ethnic groups who might feel uncomfortable here?
As mentioned earlier, unless you have children to be the center around which you do activities with others, yes, it is hard to make local friends. But I am not aware of much prejudice/racism. There is not much racial (or other) diversity here, so I'm not sure how most people would react to it. - Jun 2025
Making local friends requires Spanish and an effort to connect. While Paraguayans are friendly and helpful, they have an existing strong social network to friends and large extended families. It takes time and language to become part of the group. - Aug 2022

I don't think anyone would feel uncomfortable here due to their ethnicity. It is easy to make friends with the Embassy and School staff. - Jun 2019
