What is the relative size of the expatriate community? How would you describe overall morale among expatriates?
There are about 5,000 American citizens in Thessaloniki, and in Northern Greece, there are about 11,000 American Citizens. Most of them are Greek-Americans. Since Thessaloniki boarders 4 countries: Albania, the Republic of Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey, expect to find many people from the Balkans. CEDEFOP is the only EU institution in the city and employs over 100 Europeans from throughout the EU-25. - Jul 2006
