Malabo - Post Report Question and Answers

Are qualified veterinarians and/or good kennel services available? Do animals need to be quarantined upon entry to the country? Are there other considerations regarding pets that are particular to this country?

Our Diplopedia post report has pet info: no quarantine, but must have certificates from USDA. One of our neighbors is a vet: we were gifted two dogs who adopted the house. His care of them has been great! - Apr 2021

Not quarantine regarding pets. Veterinarian are available, we bring a cat with no problems, for a cat vaccine are not always available. - Apr 2021

There are veterinarians, but again, a local or other in-the-know person would need to direct you.   As per our Post: NO: -quarantine restrictions -U.S. Dept of Agriculture health certificate required YES: +an international health certificate +a certification of aggressiveness issued from a private veterinarian - Jul 2020

There are two vets that I've heard of. Animals don't need to be quarantined upon entry but they'll need an e-chip to pass through Europe. - Aug 2017

No quarantining necessary. There are no kennels available. There are two "vets" on the island, who are just two men who have other jobs, but work as vets "on-call". They can take care of basic issues (immunization, antibiotics) but don't do surgeries or anything complicated. - Sep 2014
