What do you wish you had known about this particular city/country before moving there?
Do not think you can easily catch a flight to the rest of central America or the Caribbean. There are very limited and expensive flights to a few select cities. You will likely have to layover in Miami or Houston to get to anywhere decent in the region. It is not a very well-connected airport in that respect, but there are a million flights to Canada and the US daily. This post is what you make of it, really, and you really need to be happy either staying home 24/7 watching TV/playing video games, or out in nature, otherwise you will be miserable. - Aug 2026
Belize is very unpopulated. Only about 400,000 residents total. There isn't much infrastructure to support a lot of "things". - Jun 2026
