What is the relative size of the expatriate community? How would you describe overall morale among expatriates?
There are approximately 30,000 American expats in Belize. Most of them are retired, living on the beaches and cayes from what I can see. I don't see many Americans other than at Post in my day to day life. Morale at Post seems to vary based on who is here. It's a small enough group that two or three people can wildly change the dynamics of the group as a whole. Currently I think morale is pretty good. - Jun 2026
