What is the availability and cost of household help, and what types of help are typically employed by expatriates?
$5 an hour is the going rate for housekeepers and finding a competent one is difficult but possible. Nannies and cooks are harder to come by if you want English speaking and if you want one with any sort of training. Rates are around $7 an hour. - Aug 2026
We have a housekeeper we pay 50 BZD (25 USD) for a half day of work once a week, and a chef 150 BZD plus the cost of groceries to buy the ingredients and cook all day once per week. Others have nannies and some of these nannies/housekeepers will walk dogs and pet sit if you need it. Most homes have a housekeeper who can cook. Cost range from $8 BZE an hour to $100 USD a week depending on duties. On top of this is BZE social security if your housekeeper works more than 8 hours. - Feb 2019
