Is it easy to make friends with locals here? Are there any prejudices or any ethnic groups who might feel uncomfortable here?
Yes, Belizeans are friendly and welcoming, but you have to make the first move to be friends. Knowing and being open to learn some kriol will go a long way. Belize is a mix of all shades of people and languages, so that is not an issue. - Aug 2026
Locals are friendly. It's easy to make friends with the locals that work at the Embassy. Outside the embassy, I haven't really made friends with many people. That could be more of a "me" problem though. - Jun 2026
