What is the relative size of the expatriate community? How would you describe overall morale among expatriates?
Small. Morale is good. There were some expats (American and non-American) who were not happy in Chengdu. We had a great time exploring and enjoying the local culture and other cities in China. - Aug 2017
Medium-sized expat community. Small enough that you can get to know people pretty well and cross paths often, but large enough that you can still meet new people and find the ones with common interests. There is a large scope of people as well, from students to teachers to business people to diplomats. - May 2016
Growing quickly mostly from the Chevron and other gas/oil projects in the surrounding area. What was once a very small tight-knit community has now grown quite large, very quickly. - Aug 2013
