What are some typical ways to socialize, either with local people or with other expatriates? Are there groups or clubs that you can recommend?

Compared to Pittsburg, Portland, Liverpool, Frankfurt, Minneapolis...great. Compared to Paris, Chicago, NYC, and even Montreal/Toronto...it is on a much smaller scale with less variety. But then again, Montreal is only a 1.5 hour drive away. - Nov 2009
