Homosexual acts are widespread in Pashtun culture, but there is no acceptance of a gay lifestyle here. Openly gay people are regularly murdered in Peshawar. There are limited opportunities for anyone to have a social life. But I don't think a gay couple would have a problem within the consulate community. - Aug 2010
