Is it easy to make friends with locals here? Are there any prejudices or any ethnic groups who might feel uncomfortable here?
It is easy and it is not. If you speak French then you can have good conversation. It is not normal for Togolese to invite you to their home or vice versa. Before you even arrive at that stage you need to learn local custom, how to address people, what is proper, what is offensive, and so on. If you do not care to learn about all of that then it would be difficult for you to make friends with locals. Togolese are very friendly and polite people so you won't really encounter an 'uncomfortable' situation but be aware to not put them in an uncomfortable situation. - Mar 2019
