What kinds of organic, vegetarian and allergy-friendly foods are available, such as organic produce, gluten-free products, meat substitutes for vegetarians, etc?

Strangely, certain stores seem to specialize in organic, gluten-free, etc. Maison Handal, next to the U.S. Embassy, imports a lot of these products, as does Giant. Unfortunately, the price is prohibitive. Girls in the street sell very nice produce at more reasonable rates. - Jan 2011
