Yerevan - Post Report Question and Answers

What is your home city/country? How long is the trip to post from there, with what connections? How easy/difficult is it to travel to this city/country?

My home base is in California. Trips to anywhere in the U.S. will take about 24+ hours. Even pre-Covid, there were limited flights in and out of Armenia requiring connections through Paris, Kyiv or a handful of other places. - Jan 2022

VA/TX Very long flights, departing in the middle of the night; no easy connections; long layovers through Paris or Vienna. Yerevan is not well-connected to other international destinations. - Aug 2021

The Washington DC metro area is home. Pre-COVID, most people got back to the states via Air France through Paris or Austrian Air through Vienna. Both routes it is more than 20 hours of travel time with the layovers. During COVID, people departed and arrived at post on Belavia through Minsk. That is not ideal. You can also connect to the States via Dubai or Doha. More budget carriers were opening up to Yerevan like RyanAir, WizzAir, Baltic Air, but with COVID, the expansion plans were halted. - May 2021

Nashville, TN, USA is about 15 hours of flying from Yerevan, with connections available through Paris, Vienna, and Dubai. - Mar 2017

Washington, DC. The best connection is via Paris. It's advisable to get a (free) AF frequent flyer. - Oct 2014

Washington, D.C. 14 + hours via Paris, Zurich, or London. - Sep 2011
