Are qualified veterinarians and/or good kennel services available? Do animals need to be quarantined upon entry to the country? Are there other considerations regarding pets that are particular to this country?
There is a vet clinic at the RSPCA downtown. Animals need to be quarantined, but I’m not sure of the particulars. Importing pets is very expensive and time-consuming, especially bringing dogs. Many compounds have restrictions on pet ownership. But I know a few people who have brought dogs or cats. Some people buy fish and fish tanks on the local economy. There are many stray dogs and cats in the city but I don't know of any adoption programs. - Aug 2025
