What kind of car do you recommend bringing to post, given the terrain, availability of parts, burglary/carjacking risks, etc.? What kind of car do you advise not to bring?

No personal vehicles allowed. . .most staff don't get out much. If you do it will be in an armored SUV. Important note: women should bring scarves to cover their heads when leaving the compound, including to wear in the vehicle. Burqas are common attire in Afghanistan, but foreign women do fine with long sleeves, long pants or skirt, and a head covering. - Jun 2014
