What is the availability and cost of household help, and what types of help are typically employed by expatriates?

Six Euros/hour is typical for household help. We had a fabulous housekeeper come multiple times a week and it was a great help, especially when telecommuting. - Aug 2021

Typically people pay about 5 Euro an hour for household help. If you have a full-time person usually there is a monthly rate, I've heard it's around 600 Euro/month. Most people have at least a housekeeper and if the have kids then also a nanny or a steady babysitter. There are a lot of English-speaking Nannies available, everyone knows someone! - Jul 2019

Available; many speak English or German. I pay 6 Euro per hour for an excellent cleaner, and 300 Euro monthly for a nanny who works 5 days a week, 3-4 hours a day. I heard that there are cheaper options; but I am satisfied. - Nov 2016
