Tallinn - Post Report Question and Answers

What are some typical ways to socialize, either with local people or with other expatriates? Are there groups or clubs that you can recommend?

Lots of great cafes and restaurants in the city. - Sep 2023

There are several expatriate groups that connect through Facebook, such as "Foreigners living in Tallinn," and they have occasional meetings. Tallinn has a great night and cultural life, so it is not hard to meet either expatriates or locals. - Jun 2017

Dinner parties, hiking excursions. - Sep 2016

Lots of possibilities. - Jan 2013

Restaurants mostly. There is some entertaining at home, but mostly with other embassy families. - Oct 2012

Lots to do culturally! - Oct 2012

There is a good cultural scene here. Occasionally you'll get a big name artist come to town (Madonna, Sting). There are good US style movie theaters, with movies in English. Bars and clubs for every taste. Places for kids--indoor play, birthday party friendly. There's a nice zoo, although the hyena makes me sad. At some point before we leave we'll have to take the ferry over to Helsinki, or the overnight to Stockholm. - Sep 2010

Lots of options. Great restaurants, cinema, classical music, concerts. - Aug 2009
