Do you have any recommendations regarding mobile phones? Did you keep your home-country plan or use a local provider?

We kept our T-Mobile plan and used the unlimited data. We were happy with it. Much of the city has free Wi-Fi which makes things easier. - Sep 2023

I use a local provider. I never had a problem with mobile phones, and my bills are around 6 euros per month. :) - Jun 2017

Telia. 25 GBs for 20 euros a month. - Sep 2016

Get account locally. I recommend EMT. - Jan 2013

You can get any kind you want here, iphones or pay as you go, most are reasonably priced with good service. - Oct 2012

Use EMT as a service provider. They sell phones here, or bring an "unlocked" version from the US. - Oct 2012

The embassy provides a phone upon arrival. It's not usually the best phone. Buy a compatible phone of your choice to use with the provided sim card. Return ugly phone (with card) at end of tour. Family members are not assigned embassy phones, but there are reliable local plans to choose from. - Sep 2010

Service is good. - Aug 2009
