What is the typical dress code at work and in public places? Is formal dress ever required?

Too hot for formal wear and not many opportunities to dress up anyway. Our embassy does not have a Marine Security Guard unit, so we don't even have a Marine Ball to attend here. I wear capri pants and sandals to work all the time, although business casual is the norm at the embassy. - Sep 2017
