Very safe, but still a city. I don't know anyone personally who's been the victim of a crime, but petty crime still exists. - May 2023

If you are out late, beware of drunks. We would often hear of large drunken brawls in the Rocks, Darling Harbour, and Kings Cross. Australians even use the term 'glassing' for hitting someone over the head with a bottle. Although we were never harassed, we did encounter Asians being harassed on trains and in the CBD. - Sep 2012
