Sydney - Post Report Question and Answers

What is the availability of international schools? What has been your general experience with them, if any?

There are no international schools and no schools on the northern hemisphere calendar. All children at post are in local private schools or local public schools (especially at the elementary level) or are homeschooled. - Dec 2020

No true international school here and no American school - plus they're on the southern hemisphere schedule so your kids will be pushed up or back when they arrive and that really messes them up. We're not thrilled with the educational system, it's really based on the old-style British system - stiff and unresponsive. - Mar 2015

None. Kids can go to local schools. My kids love the school they are enrolled in. I love the program, the teachers and the fact the school is a block from my house. - Nov 2014

No experience with international schools. Our children attend the local public school, which was excellent. We didn't see the need to send them to a private school, although there are plenty of private school options. - Jun 2010
