Sydney - Post Report Question and Answers

What is your home city/country? How long is the trip to post from there, with what connections? How easy/difficult is it to travel to this city/country?

Washington DC. About 24 hours. Travel to/from Australia is long, expensive and can exceed 24 hours depending on connections (unless your final destination is California). - May 2023

It's about 24 hours of travel back to Washington, DC, following a 12ish hour flight to the US West Coast and then a transfer to get to DC. It's easy, with lots of flight availability (when it's not a pandemic), but a long journey and a big time difference. - Dec 2020

Midwest. Unless you live in a city that has a direct flight to Sydney, plan on 20-28 hours travel time, as well as an awful readjustment to US time. Currently, Sydney has direct flights to LA, San Francisco, Dallas, and Houston. - May 2018

FL - insanely long - you lose track of time and it takes a week to recover from jetlag. - Mar 2015

U.S. - takes about 23 hours (door to door). - Nov 2014

Los Angeles and an additional five hours from D.C. Australia seems to be nearly 8 hours minimum from everywhere, with the exception of New Zealand and Papua, New Guinea. - Sep 2012

Travel to Sydney from the United States is usually via LAX (12-13 hours) or San Francisco (14-15 hours). - Jun 2010
