What kinds of gyms or other sports/workout facilities are available? Are they expensive?

Lots of local gyms at all price points. Some are really modern. There are CrossFit centers too. The more Spanish you speak, the more options will be available. The embassy has a small gym that can get crowded. - Jun 2026

We aren't the best people to ask, but I would guess based on advertisements and what I see driving around that there are lots of options. - Dec 2020

Many options. Sportlife is a good choice, although they do not offer towel service. Pacific Fitness is a low-cost gym around town, but rumor has it that their showers run only cold water. Personal trainers are available, but they are not cheap. - Jun 2019

Yes there are a lot of them all over the place. The cost can be from US$80 - 150 depending on the type of gym and services provided. - Feb 2016
