Libreville - Post Report Question and Answers

What are some interesting/fun things to do in the area? Can you recommend any “hidden gems"?

Again, the local parks and resort. Going to Cap Esterias (roughly 40 mins drive) for lunch/beach is awesome; similarly flat beach (rough an hour drive) and the arboretum (roughly 20 mins) for hiking are super fun. - Oct 2020

Point Denis beach across the bay for a day away, whale watching in the fall, tortoise watching, forest elephant safari during a long weekend at Nyongie, weekend trips to Lambarane, long trips to remote areas if you are up for it, many national parks (expensive and hard to get to), great French pastries, a fair selection of restaurants. - Jul 2014

The beaches outside of the city are nice as the beaches in Libreville are filled with trash. We had a friend with a boat and we loved going across the bay and exploring back in the lagoons. Whale watching is amazing in the dry season! If you are up for an adventure head to the national parks. As I said, there's not much to do in Libreville but if you work at it you can pass the time. Take the time to get out and see the country. It's beautiful! - Oct 2013

Beaches, beaches, and more beaches. Point Dennis on the other side of the estuary has great beaches and resorts. - Apr 2012

Beach, nature parks, jungle trekking, getting clothes tailor-made, going to the market. - Aug 2011

Resturants. Jungle treks. - Jul 2010
