Is this a "shopping post"? Are there interesting handicrafts, artwork, antiques, or other items that people typically buy there?

Can be. You can find textiles, woodwork, crafts, art, etc. from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India, reflecting the various ethnic groups and nationalities that have made their homes here. Peranakan culture is unique to the Straits region and has its own design language - definitely get some Peranakan tiles or other distinctive pieces here! - Mar 2022
