Quality pet care available (vets & kennels)?

Italians love their animals and, as in many European cities, dogs can go almost anywhere! Vets are available everywhere and generally offer good care. Boarding is generally available mostly in private homes and one-on-one services. - May 2013

We have an excellent vet, so I would suspect vets in other neighborhoods to be good as well. We've not used a kennel, but have been able to get dog-sitters at a reasonable price. Many hotels in Italy accept dogs as well. - Apr 2012

Yes. But unless you live close to one of the big parks (Villa Borghese or Villa Ada) you might not have any green space for your dog. We go about 6 blocks to the nearest grass. Our dogs have begun to be comfortable eliminating on the concrete, but we think it's gross. Inner city living isn't great for dogs. - Aug 2010

They love their pets as much as their kids here. Quality pet care abounds. Finding English speaking services may be a bit more difficult. - Feb 2008
