The International Herald Tribune is available in many newsstands. Sky (cable TV) offers a lot of English-speaking programs, and most shows that were originally in English can be easily switched back with your remote. It's roughly 30 Euros a month. - Apr 2009
The International Herald Tribune is the English language paper of choice. You can find anything in Rome, actually, but you'll pay dearly for it! I've seen American magazines run as much as US$10. You can get them for a third off the cover price on military bases, though - even cheaper if you subscribe. You can get SKY Italia satellite service here for about US$50/month, and it allows you to set foreign programs to their original languages. This is great for the little ones. If you are a U.S. Government employee, and can get your hands on an AFN box, you won't have to miss another season of American Idol. - Feb 2008
