What are some interesting/fun things to do in the area? Can you recommend any “hidden gems"?

North Iceland was our favorite. The neighborhood hot-pots are a great leisure activity and chance to mingle with locals. - Sep 2021

Traveling around Iceland, seeing volcanos, horse back riding, geothermal swimming pools and hot tubs. There are a number of nice restaurants and bars in Reykjavik, though it is expensive. - Jul 2011
