How do you send and receive your letters and package mail? Are local postal facilities adequate?
DPO. Things will arrive in 3-4 weeks in incredibly mangled boxes. We had received many broken/unusable items. - Sep 2022
US diplomatic post office is reliable, though due to the distances and multiple handoffs involved, things can take two to four weeks in either direction, and boxes sometimes get beat up at the Guinea airport. We've had a few things go through the Guinean postal service, but this service is pretty anemic and administratively cumbersome, with in-person pickups downtown. - Jun 2021

DHL functions well here, but it is prohibitably expensive. The Guinean mail system is not reliable, so if there were no pouch I'd have to use DHL. - Mar 2008
