Home base is Washington, DC. It's surprisingly easy to get to Juba, with a direct flight to Addis on Ethiopian Airlines and then a relatively short hop to Juba. The Juba airport is basically like an American Greyhound station. It is chaotic, with aggressive personnel who are always looking for a bribe. Don't try to navigate it without assistance from Embassy local staff. - Mar 2023
United States. Total travel time from the West Coast is approximately 35 hours to Juba, via Washington Dulles. Connections are typically through Addis or Nairobi (Nairobi requires an overnight). Cairo, Dubai and Doha also offer less frequent connections. - Sep 2020
