How much of the local language do you need for daily living? Are local language classes/tutors available and affordable?

Interactions are generally limited to local staff at the Embassy, all of whom speak good English, and other expats. - Mar 2023


Juba Arabic is commonly used, but most people speak English. I don't know of anyone taking local language classes as tours tend to be short in South Sudan (one year for most embassies), and English is widespread. - Sep 2020
