Kolonia - Post Report Question and Answers

Are qualified veterinarians and/or good kennel services available? Do animals need to be quarantined upon entry to the country? Are there other considerations regarding pets that are particular to this country?

Do not bring a pet here. There are wild dogs everywhere. You can just get a puppy or a kitten when you arrive. There are zero vets on the island. Once or twice a year a vet from Guam might fly in. There are no kennels and no quarantine requirements. - Jul 2021

Heed this advice: DO NOT BRING A PET HERE!!! There are no vets. There are no kennels. There are street dogs everywhere and they will tear your dog to shreds. It is also nearly impossible to get your pets out because there is no vet. I cannot stress this enough. If you have a pet that you love under no circumstances should you bring it here. - Apr 2021

No. Don't bring pets. You can't get them certified rabies-free unless you pay the vet in Guam to come. (He comes every six months, I think.) There are packs of stray dogs who have a lot of skin ailments, coughs, wounds. There are wild chickens. Sometimes pigs. Not a healthy environment for animals. - Mar 2020

Yes. For up to 6 months. - Feb 2013
