San Juan - Post Report Question and Answers

What is the availability of international schools? What has been your general experience with them, if any?

The schools aren't "international" per se. We chose Baldwin School, and were very, very happy with our choice. Other expats have chosen St. John's downtown, which might be closer to an international school experience. We loved Baldwin and while all classes were in English, it retained enough Puerto Rican flavor to make it a great place. We have moved a lot and it has been their best schooling experience. - Jan 2014

I don't know if the bidding tool has been changed yet, but State is NO LONGER ALLOWING people to cost-construct schooling. That means the only option available for school-age kids is to send them to the DODD school at Ft. Buchanan. Here is a link to Antilles School: http://www.am.dodea.edu/acss/AES/index.htm. I cannot comment on the school because none of our children went there. It has a good reputation in the community. - Jun 2013
