Not a chance. It is very expensive to live on the island and since it is not an 'expat' assignment for most Americans, there is a lot of cost involved. Don't forget to negotiate schooling as public schools are not an option. - Jan 2014
No, no and no. Plan to give PR 25% of your paycheck in taxes, then expect to pay no less than $500-$1k per month in electricity bills alone. Almost all food is imported, so it is more expensive. Toys are surprisingly expensive, too. - Jun 2013
