What are some typical ways to socialize, either with local people or with other expatriates? Are there groups or clubs that you can recommend?
The beach, the beach, and of course, the beach. There are a few clubs, but I wouldn't be caught dead in one of them, basically because I don't want to end up being dead in one of them. - Jun 2015
Shopping, boating, fishing, scuba diving, concerts & festivals. We frequently have U.S. related sporting events such a college basketball tournaments. This year saw the first U.S. college football bowl game played here. It's expected to be an annual event. If you can't find what you need here - Miami is a 45 minute flight away. - May 2015
The Marine House has been holding regular events. Quite a bit of entertaining in people's homes. There are also a lot of restaurants that hold events, though many of these are geared toward tourists. - Jan 2011
