Muscat

What are the particular advantages of living in this city?

Great point of travel to other destinations. Very peaceful, quiet and safe city. - Aug 28, 2017
Oman's landscape is beautiful and great for hiking, camping, rock climbing, sailing, diving, snorkeling, and swimming. Getting around is easy with a vehicle and most outdoor locations and activities are free. There is an adventure for every level of fitness. - Oct 25, 2014
Winter weather is fabulous for five or six months, with lots of opportunities to camp, bike, or generally enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Muscat is modern, but has maintained its charm and history in a way many oil-rich areas have not been able to. National Geographic's "Traveler" magazine called Oman one of 2012's best tourist destinations! Omani culture is warm and tolerant. - Jun 7, 2012
Stunning natural beauty, nice people. Easy to travel regionally (direct flights to Nepal, India, Europe, Kenya). - May 3, 2012
Experienceing the Middle East the easiest way. - Aug 25, 2011
The beaches are beautiful, the people are wonderful. This is not a money saving post - Feb 20, 2011
Oman had the advantage of just being beautiful. The sun always shone, the sky was always blue and the water was usually (except during red tide!) perfect. The people were hospitable. We did save a lot of money living there. There is a lot to do and see in Oman if you are willing to get out and go. Some days we would just drive around and see what came our way. The souk is always fun. - Apr 1, 2010
Outdoor paradise from about Nov thru March then its just to hot. - Feb 12, 2010
Oman is very modern, clean, and convenient, and physically one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Virtually every corner of the country is a coffee-table book photograph. - Jan 21, 2010
