How much of the local language do you need for daily living? Are local language classes/tutors available and affordable?
I think it would be very difficult without some Italian. Surprisingly, there is very little English spoken in Naples as compared to other European cities. There are language classes available from a number of different sources. - Sep 26, 2017
You can get by with Italian. The local language, Neapolitan, would be useful, but for most interactions is not necessary. Hardly any of the locals knows English. - Jul 8, 2009
